AWS Truepower Acts as Independent Engineer in Support of EDP Renewables' Lone Valley Solar Park Financing

Article published February 11, 2015

The leading clean energy project developers, AWS Truepower, has partnered with the third largest renewable energy producer, EDP Renewables, to fund the Lone Valley Solar Project. The Lone Valley Solar Project is a renewable energy farm that consists of two adjacent solar farms in the Mohave Desert in San Bernardino County, California. The construction of this farm will mean 30 megawatts of AC power to provide energy to 7,000 average American homes.

This farm is the first solar project for EDP Renewables in North America. Annually, this solar farm will produce 80,000 megawatt-hours of energy, which in turn prevents over 55,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere. This would be the same as taking 11,000 cars off the road.

"AWS Truepower provided timely delivery of independent engineering and due diligence services to support the requirements of our financing and power purchase counter-parties," said the Director of Engineering at EDP Renewables North America, Milap Shah.
